Happy Easter!

Best wishes to everyone for a happy and peaceful Easter holiday!
Here in Australia, we celebrate Easter in the midst of autumn (the fall), when the leaves are falling from the trees and the weather is getting cooler. It’s not as strange as celebrating Christmas at the height of summer, as autumn, like spring, is also a transitory season. We’ve been having such lovely, mild weather recently during the day that it is very easy to believe that we are in the midst of spring! The flowers are still blooming, so that adds to the illusion of spring!
In Australia, the Easter weekend is truly a holiday and most businesses are closed for most, if not all, of the long weekend. I remember last year, on Easter Sunday, trying to buy some milk as we had run out. The only shop that was open was the 7-to-11 convenience store and they had no milk left! Fortunately, on the way home, I ran into a neighbour who was kind enough to lend me a litre of milk. This year, I have been better prepared and have bought everything we need in advance.
It’s been a quiet Easter so far for us as I’ve been recovering from my dental dramas. Thank you for all of your good wishes for my recovery. I’m feeling better each day. In retrospect, it was a good time to get the dental work done as my husband has been able to help with the children over the Easter weekend and I haven’t had to get my daughter organised for school.
Enjoy the rest of your Easter holiday, wherever you are and however you celebrate Easter.

I hope you had a good Easter. I am remembering how lost I was trying to find food on Easter Day and not knowing where to go to get it.
Because we’re a day later, I still have my Easter dinner to finish, but I have the house ready and potato salad in the refrigerator ready.

Happy Easter, Roz!
Hi Marilynne - Things haven’t changed much at Easter since you were in Australia! I had a nice, if quiet, Easter, thanks. It sounds like you were well organised, so I hope that you had a wonderful day!
Hi Caregivingdaughter - Thanks! I hope that you had a good Easter too!
Thanks, Martin - we had a nice, if quiet, time. I wonder why Easter is celebrated a week later in Bulgaria? Perhaps you’ll write about it on your blog.
